Alpha II 300B

Featuring both balanced and RCA Inputs, the signal feeds a pair of Jensen phase splitter transformers, which send each phase to 1/2 of a 6SN7 dual triode. Jupiter copper foil coupling capacitors then feed the signal to a 6V6 tube, which is triode-wired for each phase of each channel, so there are four total. Each pair then drives a push-pull interstage transformer, which drives the grids of each pair of 300Bs. The signal is then finally summed again at the output via the push-pull output transformers. A massive power supply rated at triple-duty and featuring a “slow-start” for the 300Bs high voltage is employed, so that the signal tubes warm up prior to the 300Bs conducting. Dual choke filtering and DC filaments throughout the amp ensure that it produces a spooky black background from which the music emanates.
